For all those feeling confused - there is no way at all that we look like a relegation team.

I have to question those saying this...maybe you saw the recent Allardyce interview.. how long have you followed West Ham? How much do you know about football? Allardyce deserves no respect in footballing terms, he is a man who has made a career off the back of destroying all that is beautiful in the game.

Comparing this game to the second half of last season - I honestly would rather see us have 75% of the ball and trying to break a team down and lose, than hoofing the ball into the final third and waiting for a mistake or taking advantage of set pieces, mistakes and statistics. Even watching the centre halves and keeper actually passing the ball to each other made me smile - we might have been 2 down at the time, but that is football. Sullivan and Gold are supposedly West Ham fans, but appointing a man so opposite to Greenwood and Lyall is almost unforgivable. Remember this in any advertising campaign they attempt.

Let's be honest - Payet is top, top quality. On the same level as Tevez and Di Canio. Sakho is also a great player - Samassi Abou with quality! Kouyate is better than Foe (rip)...we are a very good team. Even Obiang looked very good.

We are trying to play football - the west ham way is back. To win lose or draw, it doesn't matter - play football and have some players to entertain the fans. Patience is necessary of course and probably a couple more flair players...we obviously need a striker to come in for Sakho, not just a Carroll, but someone with pace, movement and energy, but it will happen.

Overall though, we played ok today, Bilic will learn from it and realistically we are on the same amount of points now that we would have hoped for when the fixture list was released.

Today was much more valuable for the new management team than the Arsenal game.

One thing is for certain, in the next week or two we will beat Bournemouth and we will sign a new striker.

Either way, it's lovely to see my West Ham playing football again. We might not win the league, but I am absolutely certain that we will be in the top 8 this season.

Yeah, poor sod. How awful for a public figure to be remembered only for the mildly kinky manner of his death. Wasn't hurting anyone.

Thank you, Bungo - Nurse's cruel rejection of my missives might have lead to a ill-advised torching of shed and innocent jacaranda were it not for your timely and kind intervention.

Stephen Milligan - strange fruit there that's for sure.

Interesting connection of Maslow to sheds there H&P. Attainment of peaceful existence within one's shed is right up there in self-actualisation I would say.

Hope the seedlings do well.

I expect PD will want to add his thoughts about Maslow too soon..

I read as far as your quoting of my post, then no further.

When are you going to learn you are wasting your time trying to get me interested in your 'profound learning'?

"What was wrong with just 'liking' or being 'very keen' on stuff?"

Ever heard of Maslow's hierarchy of motivations? Anyone who has put up a shed or owed one knows it is no paltry challenge. For when a man has satisfied his need food, warmth and security, and and he still has the fire of passion in his guts, he puts up a shed and spends time it it - in my case bringing up a school of jacaranda seedlings from a pod I found in Lisbon this spring.

That's passion Nurse - you ought to try it some time.

Yeah, can't say I blame you.

Unless we're talking Stephen Milligan.

Re: Positivity
I don't like it used in any other context than sex/love.

The way it is overused now is a horrible 21st century affectation.

Everyone from sandwich makers to minicab firms claim to be 'passionate' about what they do. Twats.

What was wrong with just 'liking' or being 'very keen' on stuff?

Presumably you prefer it used in the context of cake?

Oh, and you'd have to get past the guard lizard and the guard hamster before you get near any of my sheds. Grrr!

Nurse Ratched 7:07 Sun Aug 16
Re: Positivity
And Bungo, if you use the word 'passion' in that context again, I will burn your sheds down.

*winces*

'Positivity' is an inbred-twelve-toed-foetus abortion of a word.

Almost as bad as 'eatery'.

It's a shame really because the fella clearly has a passion for the club, but doesn't seem able to process a very simple concept.

Hopefully he has enough self-awareness and capacity to learn, to think a bit more before he posts in future.

Who says keeping losing is what is desired?

It's learning from the loss that is important.

You're not very bright are you?

Do you actually understand the difference between learning from a loss, and thinking that people are suggesting that continuing to lose regularly would be a good thing? There is a simple difference between these two concepts that shouldn't really be too hard to grasp. unless of course you are truly stupid.

Please try receiving rather than just transmitting for once.

Private Dancer 5:35 Sun Aug 16
Re: Positivity
Bungo - No I agree, let's keep losing so that we can learn. After all football is littered with teams that kept on losing but then turned it around and become successful after learning from it.....oh hang on, that doesn't actually happen in the real world, does it.

You're a mug pal. END OF STORY.

*crosses fingers that we lose next week*
